Zodiacs
The Zodiacs were from Levin and were a popular dance band around the Wellington area between 1961-1964. The track "Hot Rod" was self written and recorded for a radio show on September 14, 1964. It featured John Croot on guitar, Kevin Bowling on bass guitar, and John Van Der Ryden on drums.
John Croot would go on to have a long career in various bands in the area, including the Group and Mike and the Beavers, while John Van Der Ryden was a future member of Cellophane.
