Although Darryl and the Demons were not in the big league as far bands go, they were important in the history of New Zealand music. From their ranks came players who were to join other major groups.

Bryan Beauchamp was the first to leave the Demons. He joined the Blue Diamonds which evolved into Bari and the Breakaways. His place in the Demons was taken by Jim Ford on drums. Al Dunster and Jim Ford went on to join the Dallas Four. Dunster also played with Dave Miller and the Byrds. Tony Blomfield played with Gray Bartlett's Combo and later with Ray Woolf's Avengers.
