The Ahmed Dahman Group were a Palmerston North based band. They had one recording called "Stage Door" backed with "She's My Girl" in 1968 for HMV. They did achieve notoriety on the Loxene Golden Disc Award by being refused permission to appear, "too far out". The single "Stage Door" had been originally recorded by American Peter James in 1965.
