Auckland based seafood company, Oceanic Foods, released this card to promote the New Zealand fishing industry's goal of building the seafood export business into a $2 billion market by the year 2000.

2,000 of this card were inserted into a 1995 Seafood Gift Pack Presentation Folder, illustrated below.
There are two versions of this folder. The outside looks the same, it is just the inside that varies. One is in English, the other is in Chinese.

Because of the high face value of $50, very few of these two folders were sold, and the company concerned, was fortunate to have a return clause in their contract, so a large quantity
of these cards were returned to Telecom.
In 1999, towards the changeover to chip cards, rather than print new $50 cards, Telecom released this card for general circulation, but added an overprint on the reverse, "Valid for use ....", see illustration.

The other 2,500 of this card were inserted into a Special Telecom Folder, illustrated below bottom, and they were overprinted on the reverse with Collectors Issue 1995.
