GENEVA TELECOM '91
FOLDER

From October the 7th to the 15th, the 6th World Telecommunications Exhibition and Forum were held in Geneva, Switzerland.
Phonecards were made available and distributed from a vending machine.
In order to obtain a phonecard, one had to buy the folder which contained a coin, to be inserted into the vending machine. This then produced the $5 Geneva card, which could then be used in nearby mobile phones.
The card, mint or used, could then be placed into the folder over the coin area.
Most of the folders, and those remaining unsold, were placed in the litter bins, so that very few were rescued or returned to Australia, making them very rare.

The Geneva Folder was issued in October 1991.
Quantity produced was unknown.
For details on this card, refer
GENEVA.
