Westpac produced the Pohutukawa phonecard as part of its support for Project Crimson. This project was founded in 1990 by Carter Holt Harvey and the Department Of
Conservation to help preserve the Pohutukawa tree.

The card was also included in the Collector Pack AdCards Volume Four NZ-CP-22 and was overprinted on the reverse with either Collectors Issue 1993 or Collectors Issue 1994.
